What did Kim Jong-un do to dogs?
It is reported that a pair of dogs gifted four years ago by the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, have ended up at a zoo in South Korea after a dispute over who should pay for the animals’ care.
Apparently, the South Korean government had been footing the bill for the upkeep of the two dogs, but when it asked the North Korean government to contribute, they refused.
This led to the South Koreans taking ownership of the dogs and sending them to a zoo.
It is not clear what will happen to the dogs now, but it is hoped that they will be well-cared for and will be able to live out their lives in peace.
Since the Korean War, there have been a number of Americans who have defecting to North Korea or have been captured as prisoners of war and remained in the country. Additionally, there are Americans who visit North Korea occasionally as part of tours or groups. These travelers typically come from China and typically only stay for a short period of time.
